Staff Spotlight: Kaitlin Naylor

  • Where Did You Grow Up? Knoxville, Tennessee

  • Job Title: Document Analyst

  • What I Actually Do At Cockle:  I assist Cockle’s clients in bringing their filings into compliance with the Supreme Court’s rules either in guiding them through our full service process, providing Camera Ready reviews to bring their brief into print ready condition, or helping design a custom package of services based on their own unique needs. I also assist filers in the 2nd and 8th Circuit Courts of Appeals as well.

  • Time At Cockle: I started working at Cockle in July 2016.

  • Education: The George Washington University, B.A. in Asian Studies and Japanese Language and Literature, Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, J.D.

  • My First Job: Retail Associate at Sam Goody. I sold DVDs and CDs and occasionally was allowed to work the register unsupervised.

  • Something My Co-workers Don’t Know About Me:I have never backed into a parking spot. I honestly do not trust my own sense of depth perception or spatial awareness enough to attempt this feat of parking.

  • My Favorite Part About Working At Cockle: My co-workers are very helpful and fun to work with. It’s also very satisfying to interact with a variety of people every day and help them turn their drafts into booklets.

  • What You Are Able To Offer Cockle’s Clients? I offer a helpful point of contact where the client can have their questions and concerns about the process answered. It is always my goal to make the experience of filing a brief with Cockle as stress-free as possible.

  • What Do You Do On A Typical Day Off? Catch up on housework and hang out with friends. When I’m feeling particularly inspired I like to try out more elaborate recipes that I don’t have time for during the week.

  • Dogs Or Cats? My husband and I foster dogs for Pug Partners of Nebraska so we usually have at least one foster dog at any given time in addition to our three dogs.

  • Favorite:
    • Movie Quote:“May all your bacon burn” Howl’s Moving Castle
    • Vacation Spot: New York City is my most common vacation spot but I’m also partial to a lazy beach vacation when the opportunity arises.
